afternoon tea
the rain, wind and threats of flooding did not stop for three days ...
the boys cooked damper and took such delight and care preparing and setting the little table with some of our treasured keepsakes ...
hot tea was brewed and just cooked damper with lashings of butter and honey quickly vanished from the plate.
the old billy can was pulled out of the camping box and dusted off in celebration of Australia day. the boys had fun scattering the table with shells, feathers, pebbles and a huge bunch of basil fresh from the garden.
observing the excitement of gathering together around the old wooden table with simple pleasures such as tea, bread and honey was delightful. such a wonderful reminder of the importance of simplicity and what makes our children truly happy.
