our christmas whispers by the beach

we have simplified our count down to christmas this year. in the past i have purchased small gifts such as pencils, animal figurines and little christmas books. i would also scribble little notes filled with love and holiday cheer onto tags and attach to a hessian count down pocket calendar that we hung on the wall.

this year i decided to scribble sweet christmas whispers onto little white dollies {they remind me of the snow} and i simply attached the first whisper to some foliage that i found after a perfect sunset swim with my sister on friday evening.
the boys really don't need any added bits and bobs at the moments and with christmas so close i would much prefer to spend money on beautiful hand made items that will last the distance.
so each night as the fairy lights are switched off i will place the next days christmas whisper onto the beach foliage ... and as the the delicate greenery and little white flowers start to wilt and drop {as they will} we will just have to take another sunset walk to gather some more.

  2. Such a beautiful way to celebrate the season. I adore it!! We've done away with goodies in the advent calendar this year too opting for little notes, christmas carol lyrics, craft plans for the day, christmasey recipes.... I think your whispers are just magic! Wishing the loveliest of balmy Summer evenings :) x x

  5. What a lovely idea. I would imagine they would look great hanging in a row from a window too...like snowflakes suspended.
