gathering at this time - beauty and family

foliage and pine needles gathered. lights hung and carols sung ... we have an assortment of greens and neutral tones reflecting the natural beauty that surrounds us everyday.

tomorrow we will introduce delicate wooden decorations and fabric gingham hearts in red and white. we have sweet little keepsakes that i collected on our overseas adventures a few years back and of course an array of handmade ornaments crafted by the boys.

i must say a night spent at the carols by candlelight with my family was extremely enjoyable. we all feasted on delicious soft cheese, turkey slices and a tasty moroccan dip {which my husband declared the "best" dip he had tasted in a long time} all of this was eaten with a crunchy loaf, crackers and washed down with cold champagne. we lazed about on rugs under a blanket of stars and fairy lights and we relished two sweet boys as they danced, swayed and cuddled us all.

and my sister made a toast "to the silly season" of course!

  1. It really is the most magical time! We got our tree today and already the house smells all piney and fresh. There was some pine cone hunting too. I am giddy with excitement at all the lovely christmasy craft to share with my babies. The baskets and bowls have been pulled out in anticipation ;)
Gorgeous pictures of your beautiful world. x x
