being still

one hour in the middle of the day for all of us to have the breathing space that we need to revitalise, grow, dream, drink tea and breath.  it is with a grateful heart that i recently discovered the truly magical world of sparkle stories.
you can't help but be taken away by the sense of wonder, magic and beauty that is these charming audio stories. as we are delighting in the festive season we just purchased this one. and it has since become a firm favourite.
one sleep left until the festive season officially kicks off ... and the eagerness of little hands gathering all of our Christmas trinkets and preparing our home is one filled with anticipation for what is ahead.

* this is not a sponsored post ... just a something beautiful that i wanted to remember.

  5. Funny I should read this because I've been meaning to buy one of their stories for ages. Thanks for the reminder! Beautiful pictures Sarah. I do love coming here.

  6. Out of curiosity, how do your boys listen to them? What I mean is, when you first introduced an audio story to them, did you suggest sitting on the sofa/bed and listening to it, or was it at bedtime?

    1. thank you vanessa ... my four year tends to hop on our spare bed downstairs whilst the toddler goes up to his cot not long after lunch. sometimes i leave some books for him or a little felt board - he asks everyday for a sparkle story though. he loves them!

  8. Hi Sarah, I've been meaning to pop in and say a proper hello. Hello! I love these photos. I can sense the stillness and peace you create for your children. I've heard about these sparkle stories and I'm thinking it might be good for my little big girl who now only ever has a daytime nap every once and a while. I got her a kids yoga dvd and this seems to help calm her down...but something like this would be ideal. xx

  10. we have purchased some of these stories and they are wonderful. funny we have listened to them in the car but i never thought to put them on at rest time. jess doesn't have a day time nap very often anymore but we both need a rest and some quiet time after lunch. i usually read to jess at this time to keep her quiet and still for a while but sparkle stories would be perfect to listen to (i would get a rest too!).

stunning photos, you have created such a calm space x
